Our land...
Because of our history of shrinkage we have vast areas of the city with unused land. At the moment the council pays a large bill to keep these areas clean and tidy, maintain the infrastructure and services etc. Because of the dereliction these areas are unproductive no go areas, they are depressing to say the least. Current definitions of land are designed to make it possible to sell land. Land has other uses which are not visualised by these definitions.
Size does not mean wealth. Most of us would prefer good health, well developed communities and good education rather than wealth. How can we achieve this?
Could we make better use of our derelict land? Can we, for a very small outlay, improve people’s health and well being?
We have each other and our skills, it is time to get together people must plan.
